An AMAZING book on the secret sins of Christianity. Beth exposes how churches and leaders do not like to speak on secret sins, but that they are still there and we still need to deal with them. We all have a secret sins, but we need to be able to confess it and heal and grow.Beth's book is exactly what I was looking for in this time of my life and I believe it will be for ANYONE who picks it up.
In one way, this is an easy read. But it is also an uncomfortable read because it convicts. Fortunately, the book also is a practical guide for dealing with that conviction in a healthy way and modeling that for others. It is like a spiritual gut health check to deal with the problem of spiritual constipation -- unconfessed sin.
This book is just beautiful. It has changed the way I view my sin, both past and present. It will change the way I parent. It will change the way I lead. It is filled with honest and raw stories, so much accurately applied scripture and a message the church at large needs to hear.
Beth uses her authentic self to bring a well-timed challenge to God's people. She approaches the age old problem of sin with a message that compels compassion to self and other while also summoning us to address sin in our lives.Beth reminds us that even in our disobedience, even when we have continued unrepentant in our sin, "He is pleading with [us] to come back.
