About the Author
Barbara Ali is a native of Illinois, but spent the bulk of her adult life traveling the world as she served a career with the US Air Force. She is an avid photographer, world traveler, adventurer, and mom. She and her husband Abdulhamid live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where they have a “yours, mine, and ours†family of 6 children. The youngest, Omar, is the only one currently living at home. He has Down syndrome and has been her inspiration in creating a life filled with fun. His love of the outdoors, along with his free spirit, spurred her to do and see more. Together they create new adventures every day. She writes about them at www.milwaukeeparks.blogspot.com. I had the pleasure of meeting the author at a recreation dept class she ran on what can all be offered in the Milwaukee Park System. If you get the chance to go see her speak, GO! Very engaging and informative like her book. Easy read, set up more like a fun and well informed field guide, its a great resource to explore your City and learn more of what there is to do for all seasons.
This book is a must for active Milwaukee folks! Filled with engaging ideas, photos, websites, and stories, it's an easy way to find out about the joys of the outdoors in all seasons. I'm glad to discover the book in time for holiday gift-giving.
