I was a nervous wreck. The doctor's solution was an anti-psychotic but I instead chose to start this program. After 4 weeks i was off the and my mood improved significantly. After 2 months i was feeling very good but one night I experienced the beginnings of a panic attack for no apparent reason other than letting my mind run away. I immediately started a meditation and within seconds completely diffused what was going to be a runaway train.

This is the book that allowed me to understand what mindfulness and meditation practices are all about. Instead of tuning out, open yourself up to that one thing you can focus on and appreciate it for what it is whether it's the sound of your breath or a drive in the country. Very practical advice. My stress has gone down considerably since working mindfulness into my life although I understand it is a lifelong practice.

The initial ideas are revolutionary. I was devouring this book in the early going and had to pace myself to fully ingest the new ideas. Once I got into it, I would have like more exercises on the practice of mindfulness meditation. There are some at the end of each chapter. Thought that it ended kind of flat, with what boiled down to tips and techniques for parenting. Obviously that became another book.

The reasons for stress are numerous including family issues, financial problems, health, workload pressures, tight and unreasonable deadlines. and more. There are multiple reasons for people to be unhappy and become victims of ill health.

This is a perfect guide for all if you want to learn more about Mindfulness Meditation, so that's the ideal guide for you. I find this guide from Amazon. Analysis of statistics and surveys conducted by reputed survey firms such as Gallup, Various, Health and Safety Executive, and American Psychological Association have revealed alarming data. Well written by the Author. Thankful!

This is the book that allowed me to understand what mindfulness and meditation practices are all about. Instead of tuning out, open yourself up to that one thing you can focus on and appreciate it for what it is whether it's the sound of your breath or a drive in the country. That’s a powerful lesson to glean from a small but powerful book.

Great book on mindfulness. Another confirmation book for me, but did teach me a few more things. This book incorporates teachings and lessons from a lifetime of practicing and teaching meditation and mindfulness. This book is a great tool for those who like to be practical and focus on meditation.

I am using this book as my guide for a meditation class that I teach. What I love is that Chodron is so down to earth and presents the approach to meditation in a way that is very accessible and relatable. Simply great! to the point and easy to follow.
