Kate O’Donnell is an Ashtanga yoga teacher, a nationally certified Ayurvedic practitioner, and an Ayurvedic yoga specialist. As an Ayurvedic educator, Kate leads workshops, trainings, and lifestyle retreats in the US and abroad. She is on the faculty for the Kripalu School of Ayurveda and for Ayurvedic Health Education trainings. She lives in Boston.

Just got my cookbook today and I like it even better than Kate's seasonal cookbook, which I have also really enjoyed. I made the ginger carrot muffins this afternoon and they are amazing. One of those plus some fresh sauteed asparagus is going to be dinner! The cookbook couldn't have arrived on a better day since I was looking for a dietary pick-me-up anyway to get back on a healthy, mindful eating track. I am really looking forward to picking up a couple of things at the store tomorrow to make the date pear morning kichari to kick off her "three-day reboot mind cleanse." In addition to this book, I also bought a Kindle copy of Thich Nhat Hanh's How to Eat. Spring just seems like the time for new beginnings and after a long, cold winter indoors I am ready for a fresh start. These two inspiring resources should make for a perfect "pairing."

I'd forgotten that I had ordered Kate's book and so it was like Christmas when it arrived in my mailbox. I loved Kate's first book, but have to admit that I have fallen even more in love with this new book already. I'm devouring it. I LOVE the Ayurvedic perspectives on food and the mind put in such a useful and easy format for both those of us who are practitioners as well as laymen seeking healthy food choices to support the mind. I find this especially useful in this age of wild minds, complicated and unhealthy diets and trends, and the deep disconnection from our food. Kate keeps it simple, straightforward, and understandable. The recipes and format is uncomplicated and easy to use. Thank you Kate for another amazing book.

This is so much more than just a cookbook, and I love that! The first third or so contains some chapters to introduce the concepts that go into Ayurvedic practices and the different types of terms used throughout so that users of the cookbook can gain a more full understanding of why it is so important to eat the way Kate recommends. Not only that, but throughout the recipe section almost every page has a random tidbit or historical Ayurvedic fact at the bottom to add to the wealth of knowledge that you will receive upon ordering this book. The recipes give a huge variety with different chapters for different states of mind and each containing options for breakfast, main dishes, condiments, desserts, and drinks! If you're looking for a healthier lifestyle and better eating habits, this is definitely the way to go.

I love Kate O'Donnell's first book, Everyday Ayurveda. Well, she surpassed herself on this second cookbook geared towards a calm, clear mind. The content is intelligent and non-dogmatic, and the recipes I've tried so far are sublime, super simple, and feel amazing in my body. I am SO grateful to have found both of her books! And the photography by Cara Brostrom (who also did the photography for Everyday Ayurveda) is simply beautiful. I am using this book daily! I am super happy with this purchase.

This book is changing my relationship with my mind, body, spirit and food! I fell in love with Kate's first book but this one seals the deal. Kate O'Donnell is brilliant and I'd invite her in my home any day...for one of her meals ;) She offers a simple, yet informative and intuitive way to understand, embrace and take action to create a soothing relationship with food...soothing for you mind, body and spirit. I will cherish this book for many, many years and share it with others. I know she may not want to hear it...but I can't wait until her next cookbook! Thank you for sharing your gifts with the world Kate!

This book is outstanding and educational on many levels. I have not followed a recipe yet but I have read and enjoyed rereading about Sattvic living and restoring my Ojas. The photos are beautiful and Kate's writing is soothing. I am so glad to have found this book. The ancient science of Ayurveda is even more powerful today in our rushing world and this book defines choices we have for living a calm and peaceful life with the help of food.
